Happy Community Manager Appreciation Day 2017!!

Community Managers are awesome! At Social Edge not only do we have a great team of dedicated and passionate community managers, and we are lucky to get to work with other community managers every day in our client work. To celebrate #cmad2017 we asked our team to share what they love about being a Community Manager.

Check out some of the responses below and join the conversation by sharing with us what you love about community management and being a community manager.

I love connecting people - when people are able to connect and collaborate individuals and small teams are able to accomplish the largest tasks and projects.

Kaitlin Connor

As a community manager, you get the opportunity to engage with people across your organization (role, department, location, etc) that you might not have had an connect with otherwise.

I love getting people comfortable with technology and working with clients to discover/translate existing workflows into jive. I also love bringing client to the aha moment when they realize their community can certainly become a vehicle for their business strategy.

Margarita Giraldo

I love meeting people across the entire organizations - CMGRs get to engage with everyone from HR, Communications, Facilities Management, to key business units.  Not many people within a company get to touch and understand the entire organization like we do.

Kaitlin Connor

Community managers are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to solve problems. I like being able to show people how they can use their communities to find what they need faster and get their work done better.

 Amara Mastronardi

Being a CMGR gives you the opportunity to bring people together to build community around shared interests and ideas.

Community management is about orchestrating all the details - large and small - to build, surface and reward value from collaboration.

 Christina Pedulla

I believe deeply that business collaboration tools are the way of the future.  It excites me to imagine what the future of the workplace could look like for every business, SMB to large enterprise, in 10 years and how I was a component in helping companies achieve this shift.

Kaitlin Connor

Technology is always changing, so community managers are always actively learning new things every day.

Amara Mastronardi

I love connecting people with the answers, information and other people they are looking for.

Erin Haines

I think about this holistically and in some scenarios, altruistically as well. Making a real difference is at the heart of why I love doing this.

Oliver Beirne

Community managers wear many hats and play many roles -- no two days are ever exactly the same!
